The instructions are clear, step by step, and easy to follow, with simple wiring schematics to guide you on your way. The heater worked fine the first time when I tried it after the install, and heated the 6 gallon tank of water to a very hot temperature in about 1 1/2 hours. If you need faster hot water, just turn on your propane to use at the same time, and, once heated, the electric heater will keep the water hot enough to keep the propane from coming on unless you take a long shower. "This is literally the best purchase I have ever made for my RV. Not only is it saving tons of money on LP, but I can now take FULL LENGTH showers with full-blast hot water, something I've never been able to do with my RV. It actually doesn't use much power at all because the thermostat is very accurate and it heats the water so quickly, and because of that I am able to turn the water temperature higher, which means I use less of it to get the desired temperature and that means LONGER SHOWERS!!! (Ohhhhh! Ahhhhh!) even if I didn't save tons of money with this thing, it's worth it just for the convince. Even if you don't think you need one, you should still get it. I promise it'all pay for itself the first trip you take.

"Very happy with this conversion kit. It keeps the LP burner and thermostat in place and adds an electric heater element through the drain plug opening. Everything needed was included, even some wire ties to keep the wiring tidy. The wiring diagram was in color, and all wires and connectors were color-coded. The power cord was several feet long, as was the cable that connects to the lighted power switch. All parts are high quality. The thermostat is a standard water heater unit, so if it ever fails, it can be replaced with an off-the-shelf one from any hardware store. My RV water heater is under the closet behind the drawers. There was an electrical outlet available in the enclosed space, so the unit just plugged in. I mounted the power switch (panel-mount type) through the panel just below the drawers where it could be seen and accessed easily."
